Sports Complex Renamed in Honor of Betty and Bobby Allison
AUGUST 18, 2021, SPRINGFIELD, MO – The Springfield Sports Complex is pleased to announce it will be renamed to Betty and Bobby Allison Sports Town in honor of a generous donation provided by the Betty & Bobby Allison Foundation to the Sporting Springfield Soccer Club.
The donation continues the Allisons’ influential history of supporting area youth sports. This new state-of-the-art facility will be home to weekly events to include soccer, basketball, volleyball and many others. The complex will include 8 grass fields, 4 turf fields, 4 full-size basketball courts, and 8 volleyball courts—among other accommodations for athletic events.
“The complex will provide a fantastic training facility with turf fields and high quality grass fields. Tournaments and league play will allow us to showcase our new home. Sporting Springfield Soccer Club will forever be grateful to the generosity of Bobby Allison and the tireless work of the Principles of the SGF (Springfield) Sports,” said Chad Morgan, President of the Sporting Springfield Soccer Club.
Serving as a new portal for Springfield Missouri, Sports Town is located at the entry of the Springfield-Branson Regional Airport with easy access to the interstate and City. The complex is set to expand overtime and host a variety of regional and national tournaments that will be fit for all athletes.
